Jose Mourinho hints at Serie A return

Jose Mourinho has insisted that a return to manage in Serie A is a "possibility" after the 55-year-old was sacked by Manchester United last December.

Jose Mourinho has declared that a return to manage in Serie A is a "possibility" following his departure from Manchester United last season.

United parted ways with Mourinho in December after the 55-year-old oversaw the club's worst start to a league campaign in 28 years.

Mourinho enjoyed the finest days of his managerial career in Serie A, where he won a famous treble with Inter Milan during the 2009-10 campaign.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Mourinho said: "In the future? Always soccer, and always a high level. Italy? Could be a possibility."

The Portuguese, who has been out of work for seven months, noted earlier this year that he received three job offers within a month of being removed from his post at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid were reportedly interested in bringing Mourinho back to the Bernabeu as a replacement for Santiago Solari in March, but the manager later denied having any contact with Los Blancos.
