Real Madrid are reportedly ready to appoint Jose Mourinho as the club's new interim manager until the end of the season.

Real Madrid have reportedly decided to offer Jose Mourinho the chance to make a return to the Bernabeu.

Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in December, and there are suggestions that the 56-year-old is keen to make the move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

However, according to Goal.com, the Portuguese could begin a second spell at the La Liga giants as early as next week.

The report claims that Santiago Solari will stay in charge for this weekend's fixture with Real Valladolid, but club officials are hoping to confirm a change in the dugout in the days after the game.

Mourinho enjoyed a successful period at Real between 2010 and 2013, with one league title and one Copa del Rey being won during that time.
