Report: Sir Alex Ferguson willing to help Ryan Giggs

A report claims that Ryan Giggs will be helped by Sir Alex Ferguson if he is appointed the next manager of Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly decided to make himself available to Ryan Giggs, should the Welshman be appointed the next manager of Manchester United.

Current boss Louis van Gaal, who takes his side to face arch rivals Liverpool at Anfield this afternoon, is said to be under pressure at Old Trafford, having overseen just two victories from the team's last 11 outings in all competitions

There have been suggestions that the Red Devils will turn to Van Gaal's assistant Giggs if the decision is taken to part with the Dutchman before the end of the season.

Seventy-four-year-old Ferguson guided the Red Devils through 27 largely trophy-filled years prior to his retirement in 2013.

However, he has remained at the club in an ambassadorial position and is often seen watching United matches, home and away.

According to The People, while the Scot has no interest in returning to the dugout, he would be prepared to take on some hands-on duties behind the scenes to assist his former winger.

Giggs, who made a record 963 appearances for United, took charge of the last four matches of the 2013-14 campaign following the sacking of David Moyes.
