Manchester United manager David Moyes has said that his team played well against Tottenham Hotspur despite falling to a 2-1 defeat on home soil.
Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen scored as the North Londoners took a 2-0 lead, although Danny Welbeck's goal gave United hope with just over 20 minutes left to play at Old Trafford.
"The performance was really good," the Scot told BT Sport. "I thought we defended really well, got done by a couple of counter-attacks today. The boys played well and we couldn't take the opportunities when they came along.
"All you can do is play well and hope you take the opportunities when they come. Their effort was terrific in trying to come back from 2-0 down. We didn't deserve to be behind.
"We'll keep trying to win the next game, that's all you can do. We're not necessarily looking at the league table."
The result leaves the Premier League champions 11 points off the top of the table.
