Man United's Jose Mourinho charged with misconduct for second time in a week

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is charged with misconduct after being sent to the stands against Burnley.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been hit with a second FA charge in one week after being sent to the stands during his team's goalless draw with Burnley at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese coach, who became United boss in the summer after being sacked by Chelsea last December, is alleged to have used "abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official" in the tunnel during half time of the clash.

After the break, the 53-year-old took a seat in the stands rather than the dugout and delivered his orders by using a member of his coaching staff as messenger.

Mourinho is already awaiting the outcome of a previous misconduct charge, which was issued by the Football Association as a result of comments made by the manager about referee Anthony Taylor.

The former Real Madrid boss claimed that it would be 'difficult' for Manchester-based Taylor to officiate the Premier League clash between United and Liverpool, which finished goalless at Anfield last month.

United currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of the top three.
