Manchester United defender Phil Jones has hailed the return of captain Nemanja Vidic after Saturday's 1-0 win at Everton.

The Serbian, who has recently been sidelined with a calf injury, helped his side bounce back from last weekend's 6-1 defeat against Manchester City.

"He is our captain and you don't want to go without your captain," Jones told MUTV.

"The determination and greatness shows and it rubs off on everyone else.

"We fought defensively as a unit. We have 11 players when we defend, not just four."

The Red Devils host Otelul Gulati in the Champions League on Wednesday.
