Rio Ferdinand out, Nemanja Vidic in for Utd in Romania

Rio Ferdinand is rested for Man Utd's game with FC Galati, while Nemanja Vidic returns to the squad from injury.

Rio Ferdinand has been left out of Man Utd's squad to face Otelul Galati in the Champions League tomorrow.

The 30-year-old defender has been rested for the clash, while Nemanja Vidic has recovered from a calf injury to return to the lineup. Forward Dimitar Berbatov is also back, while Phil Jones has overcome his knock at Anfield on Saturday to be included.

Alex Ferguson and his team departed the UK for Romania this morning.

The squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Anderson, Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs, Nani, Park, Young, Valencia, Berbatov, Diouf, Hernandez, Owen, Rooney, Welbeck.

Earlier, Ferguson set his players the target of winning both legs against Galati.
