Ryan Giggs praises Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez for their performances during Manchester United's 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic.

Manchester United's Ryan Giggs has heaped praise on the club's two strikers Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez.

The duo scored two goals apiece during United's 4-0 victory away at Wigan Athletic yesterday afternoon.

However, rather than reflecting on their goalscoring contributions, veteran midfielder Giggs has chosen instead to hail the pair for how hard they worked off the ball.

"Chicha and Robin were brilliant today and it wasn't only about their goals. Their workrate and the way they defended from the front and closed players down made it so much easier for the midfielders to put pressure on their players," he told MUTV.

"They'll get the plaudits for their goals, but their workrate was also important for us."

Van Persie and Hernandez have scored 31 goals between them in all competitions so far this campaign.
