Sports Mole looks ahead to Manchester United's trip to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday.

Premier League leaders Manchester United will head to Wigan Athletic on Tuesday in good form, having not been defeated in their last eight outings.

However, in the corresponding fixture last season United slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the DW Stadium - a result that proved costly to the Red Devils as a few matches later they lost the Premier League title to rivals Manchester City on goal difference.

Wigan though have not been at the best in front of their own supporters so far this year with just two wins from a possible 10.

United also have a good record when travelling to the DW. Despite losing last season, the other five meetings have ended in victories to Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

They will be without Wayne Rooney, who is suffering with an ankle injury. Ferguson has also been tipped to make a number of alterations to his starting lineup as he attempts to keep his squad fresh over the festive period.

In contrast, Roberto Martinez is expected to make only a couple of changes from the Wigan team that won 3-0 at Aston Villa last time out.
