The girlfriend of Cesc Fabregas reportedly urged the midfielder to turn down a move to Manchester United in favour of Chelsea.
The Spain international signed a five-year contract with the Blues on Thursday in a reported £27m deal from Barcelona.
The midfielder confirmed that his former club Arsenal decided against pursuing a possible return for the player, but United were linked with a move for Fabregas, who reportedly attracted interest from the Red Devils last summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Fabregas's girlfriend Daniella Semaan expressed to her other half that if he decided to leave Barcelona, she would prefer to set up home in London as opposed to the North-West of England.
Fabregas posted a video message to Chelsea supporters after signing for the club yesterday.
