Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and girlfriend Daniella Semaan became parents to baby girl Lia Fabregas Semaan this week.

The former Arsenal star announced the news via his Twitter account yesterday, the day after the Spanish giants booked a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The 25-year-old wrote on the social network website: "Yesterday it was the happiest day of my life, our daugther Lia Fabregas Semaan was born. Both her and Daniella are doing very well."

Fabregas also posted a photo of his daughter's hand clasping the midfielder's finger.
