Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel di Maria has admitted that he is 'happier' working under current manager Laurent Blanc than he was old boss Louis van Gaal.
The 28-year-old moved to Les Parisiens last summer after a disastrous one-season stint under the Dutchman at Manchester United and has gone on to amass nine goals and 11 assists in 24 league appearances with the Ligue 1 champions.
Returning to Manchester today for the second leg of his side's Champions League quarter-final with Manchester City, Di Maria appeared to criticise Van Gaal for his on-field tactics.
"From the beginning [Blanc] was clear where he wanted to play me and has never changed his mind," Di Maria told reporters.
"He gave me total freedom to move where I needed to move. I'm very happy here and it wasn't the case over there."
United took a loss of around £15m when they offloaded Di Maria to PSG last summer.
