David de Gea: 'Manchester United have set the standard'

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea tells his teammates that they need to continue the level of performance they showed against Stoke City in future matches.

David de Gea has praised the display that Manchester United produced during their 3-0 win over Stoke City tonight.

The Red Devils headed into the clash at Old Trafford with just two wins from their previous 10 Premier League outings.

However, having dominated the contest, the Spanish goalkeeper has urged his teammates to keep up that level of performance between now and the end of the season.

"That was a really important game for us, three important points. They didn't create many chances, we scored early and that was the key," De Gea told BBC Sport.

"We need to keep this tempo and try to get into the top four as soon as possible. We always try to play the same football.

"We believe in ourselves and we need to keep this level and make sure we play all the matches like today."

Next up for the Red Devils is a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.
