David de Gea happy with clean sheet

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is pleased to have kept his 16th clean sheet of the season during the 1-0 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has said that the team's latest clean sheet will help to build their confidence as they continue to chase the final Champions League spot this season.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game at Old Trafford as United edged to a 1-0 win over Aston Villa - a result that condemned the visitors to relegation from the Premier League.

United did have to survive a couple of late scares from Eric Black's side, not least when Rudy Gestede hit the woodwork, but De Gea was happy to keep his 16th clean sheet of the season.

"I think in the end of the game the team was a bit tired but sometimes you have to win the games like we did today," the Spaniard is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"To keep a clean sheet is good for us again with our confidence."

United's last four league wins have all been by a 1-0 margin.
