Manchester United's Ashley Young admits that his side was below par in their defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Manchester United wing-back Ashley Young has admitted that his side's performance was "not good enough" during their 1-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The England international put the Red Devils' latest reverse down to starting the match poorly.

"It wasn't good enough from the first whistle to the end," BBC Sport quotes Young as saying. "We put pressure on them at the end, but you can't start like that and expect to win. It is disappointing and we have to dust ourselves down and prepare for the next game."

Pascal Gross scored the only goal of the game, helping the Seagulls secure the win they needed to ensure their place in next season's Premier League.

United, meanwhile, remain in the runners-up spot with two games left to play.
