David Moyes thanks Manchester United fans for continued support

Manchester United boss David Moyes thanks the club's fans for their continued support during a testing season.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has thanked the club's fans for their continued support during a testing debut season at the helm at Old Trafford.

The champions were beaten 2-1 by Sunderland in the League Cup on Tuesday night to mark their third defeat in as many games.

The reverse at the Stadium of Light was the first time in nearly 13 years that the Red Devils have suffered three consecutive losses, and the Scot admitted the team were going through a "difficult time" after seeing his charges lose all their games this year.

Moyes told reporters: "[The fans] were brilliant tonight and I would like to thank them all. They supported me and the team.

"The fans know we're going through a difficult time and have probably not seen it as bad as this for a long time.

"But I'm determined to put it right and I'm sure we will. I sense that [determination] in the dressing room as well."

United are currently seventh in the Premier League, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal.
