Sunderland new boy Marcos Alonso has expressed his happiness with his debut as they beat Manchester United 2-1 in the League Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening.
The Spaniard enjoyed a good game and was a constant threat from a wide left position, and the former Bolton Wanderers man said that he was pleased with how his Black Cats bow went.
He told Sky Sports News: "I'm really happy because the team needed the win. The last few performances have been good but the score wasn't the one we wanted, so we have to focus on the game [against Fulham] on Saturday.
"We need to keep going now [after the United win]. It's been easy to settle in with the lads because they have fun and have made it easier to get on."
Alonso is on loan from Fiorentina until the end of the season.
