Manchester United injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Manchester United will be out for a second win over Aston Villa in the space of a few days when they travel to face Steven Gerrard's side in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils saw off their West Midlands opponents 1-0 in the FA Cup on Monday night, as Scott McTominay's strike made the difference at Old Trafford.

Ralf Rangnick's side once again struggled to produce a performance to write home about, though, and they enter Saturday's game still seventh in the Premier League table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Harry Maguire

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Abdominal
Possible return date: January 15 (vs. Villa)

Harry Maguire reported abdominal pain in the win over Burnley before the New Year and did not make the cut for the FA Cup win, so he remains a doubt for this contest.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Rangnick has revealed that Paul Pogba is still at least four weeks away from making his return to the training pitches, so the soon-to-be free agent will be absent for a little while longer.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: International duty
Possible return date: Unknown

Eric Bailly will not be available to Man United while he represents Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Luke Shaw picked up his fifth booking of the Premier League season against Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out and will serve his one-game suspension this weekend.

Scott McTominay

Similarly, Scott McTominay will not be at Rangnick's disposal at Villa Park due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
