Ander Herrera: 'Ryan Giggs stresses FA Cup importance'

Ander Herrera reveals that assistant manager Ryan Giggs is eager for Manchester United to end their 11-year wait to win the FA Cup.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed that assistant manager Ryan Giggs has expressed the importance of the club ending their FA Cup drought this season.

Giggs was a part of the last United side to win the competition back in 2004, when they recorded a 3-0 victory over Millwall.

Having scored one of the two goals against Yeovil Town yesterday afternoon that sent United into round four, Spanish midfielder Herrera has insisted that the squad is determined to lift the trophy at Wembley in May.

"Of course, Ryan Giggs said to us two days ago that we should not be [over] 10 years without this title. Of course we are going to try to win, even though we know it will be very difficult," he told MUTV.

"All the teams in England are ready to win this competition but, of course, we are Manchester United and we have to try to win this competition."

The Red Devils have won the FA Cup on 11 occasions, a record that they hold alongside Arsenal.
