Shinji Kagawa is given his first start of the season for Manchester United's Champions League tie against Bayer Leverkusen at Old Trafford.

Shinji Kagawa has been given his first start of the season for Manchester United's Champions League opener against Bayer Leverkusen at Old Trafford.

Marouane Fellaini makes his European debut for the club, while Michael Carrick and Antonio Valencia keep their places in midfield.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie lead the attack for the Red Devils.

Jonny Evans, Anderson, Ashley Young and Javier Hernandez are among the substitutes.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen boss Sami Hyypia has handed a Champions League debut to highly-rated South Korea international Son Hueng-Min, while last season's top goalscorer in the Bundesliga Stefan Kiessling spearheads their attack.
