How Manchester United could line up against Istanbul Basaksehir

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up in Tuesday's Champions League clash with Istanbul Basaksehir.

Manchester United will be looking to make it back-to-back victories at Old Trafford when they welcome Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils secured their first home Premier League win of the season on Saturday as a second-half penalty from Bruno Fernandes saw them overcome West Bromwich Albion.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are currently top of their Champions League group with six points, but they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Basaksehir in the reverse clash in Turkey earlier this month.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how United could line up in the Group H fixture.

Phil Jones and Luke Shaw remain on the sidelines for United, while Eric Bailly and Jesse Lingard are also battling to overcome recent issues in time for Tuesday's contest.

Both Mason Greenwood and Paul Pogba were left out against West Brom, with the former still recovering from illness and the latter picking up a slight ankle injury on international duty.

The pair are expected to be fit for the European fixture, though, and it would not be a surprise to see Greenwood return to the starting XI as Solskjaer looks to get the Englishman up to speed once again.

Victor Lindelof has been battling a back issue, meanwhile, and could be rested, with Axel Tuanzebe in line to feature, while Scott McTominay could replace Nemanja Matic and subsequently join Fred in midfield.

Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani are both pushing for spots in the XI, but Solskjaer is expected to again keep faith with Anthony Martial in the final third, while Fernandes is unlikely to be given a rest due to his importance to the 20-time English champions.

Dean Henderson was given the nod between the sticks in the reverse game, but David de Gea is expected to keep the gloves for this game, while Alex Telles should make his third United appearance at left-back due to Shaw's hamstring issue.
