Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has been told that manager Roberto Mancini is willing to talk to him about leaving the club.
The 23-year-old has made just two Premier League starts since moving to the Etihad Stadium from Swansea City in August.
Man City coach David Platt does not believe that the player is unhappy at the club but claims that if he were, then Mancini's door is always open.
"When a player comes to this club, they are going to have to accept they are not going to play week in, week out," said Platt.
"When we spoke to Scott, he knew what he was coming into - that it was a big, big squad.
"The manager's door is always open to any player if they want to go and play like Adam Johnson did. But he seems happy."
Johnson left City to join Sunderland for a fee of £10m earlier this season.
