Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants to bring Barcelona's Sergino Dest to the Etihad Stadium, according to a report.

Manchester City are reportedly leading the race to sign Barcelona defender Sergino Dest.

The 21-year-old has again been a regular for the Catalan giants during the 2021-22 campaign, making 16 appearances in all competitions, contributing three assists in the process.

Dest's future is currently the subject of much speculation, though, with Barcelona said to be open to selling the United States international in January in a bid to ease their financial problems.

Bayern Munich have been strongly linked with the defender, but according El Nacional, Man City are at the head of the queue for the American's signature.

The report claims that Citizens head coach Pep Guardiola now views Joao Cancelo as a left-back, and the Spaniard wants to sign competition for Kyle Walker at right-back.

Dest, who still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his contract at Camp Nou, has made 57 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions, contributing three goals and four assists in the process.
