Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly made contact with Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann in recent weeks.
The France international has previously stated that he wants to see out the remainder of his long-term contract at Camp Nou before moving to the MLS in 2024.
However, with Barcelona needing to offload a number of big-earners over the coming weeks, club officials are open to cashing in on the attacker before the end of the summer transfer window.
According to Foot Mercato, long-term admirer Guardiola could look to negotiate a deal for the 30-year-old if City fail to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.
The report suggests that Guardiola has held a phone conversation with Griezmann, potentially to assess whether the player holds any interest in a switch to the Etihad Stadium.
Griezmann has endured a mixed two seasons at Barca, netting just 22 goals from 71 appearances in La Liga.
