Manchester City 'keeping tabs on Everton defender John Stones'

Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Everton and England defender John Stones.

Manchester City are reportedly considering joining the chase for Everton defender John Stones.

The Sky Blues are planning to rival Chelsea for the England international if the Merseyside club starts considering offers, according to The Mirror.

Chelsea have already had two bids for Stones turned down, and City are said to be ready to join the fray if the Premier League champions return with an improved offer.

Everton rejected a £26m approach from Chelsea on Tuesday and are believed to be holding out for £34m, a British record fee for a defender.

Reports also suggest that Manchester United are interested in the former Barnsley man.
