Manchester City reportedly join the race for Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard.

Manchester City have reportedly joined the race for Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard.

Pavard, 22, starred for France at the 2018 World Cup, with the defender playing a key role in his country's success at the summer competition.

A number of clubs were linked with moves for the full-back in the wake of the tournament, but Stuttgart managed to keep him beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

Barcelona have recently been credited with an interest in the Frenchman, but according to Le 10 Sport, City also want to sign the defender.

Pavard, who is capable of operating at full-back or in central defence, has made two Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart this season.
