Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says that he would not consider selling Phil Foden for £450m, despite the youngster getting few opportunities this season.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reiterated that he would never consider parting ways with Phil Foden.

Despite describing the academy graduate as 'most talented player he has worked with', Guardiola has provided the 19-year-old with just one start and two substitute outings this season.

However, with the Englishman being tipped to eventually replace David Silva, the Spaniard has insisted that Foden will not be leaving the Etihad Stadium "under any circumstances".

Guardiola is quoted by The Sun as saying: "We didn't give Foden a new contract by accident. He is the only player that can't be sold under any circumstances, the only one. Not even for €500m.

"Phil's going nowhere. Phil is City. We won't be signing anyone else for that position. When David Silva leaves, we know exactly who our new magician will be.

"He's grown up with us. He's one of us and he's going to be brilliant - one of the Premier League's best."

Foden has made a total of 15 starts and 25 substitute outings since breaking into the first-team squad.
