Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel says that the club would be interested in signing Manchester City forward John Guidetti this summer.

Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel has revealed that the club would be interested in signing Manchester City forward John Guidetti should the striker become available this summer.

The 21-year-old, who joined City aged just 16 in 2008, scored 20 goals in 23 league appearances during a loan spell with the Dutch outfit in the 2011-2012 campaign.

"Guidetti is in our hearts and the door is always open for him," Van Geel told newspaper AD.

"If a godsend occurs, we would naturally increase our squad with him. But I would like to say clearly that no concrete efforts have been made to get him."

Guidetti is currently with the City squad on their pre-season tour of South Africa.
