Barcelona reportedly still owe Manchester City £46m of the £48m fee that was agreed between the two clubs for the transfer of Ferran Torres in January.

Manchester City are reportedly still owed £46m by Barcelona as part of the deal to take Ferran Torres to Camp Nou earlier this year.

The Spain international registered 16 goals and four assists in 43 appearances for Man City before leaving the club to join Barcelona in January.

Man City agreed to sell Torres in a deal worth £48m, but according to the Daily Mail, they have only paid around £2m of the agreed transfer fee.

Despite pulling a number of economic levers to sign players including Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde in the summer, the Catalan giants are obligated to pay Man City the £46m they are owed for Torres over the next few seasons.

Upon his arrival at Barcelona, Torres signed a contract that includes a £1bn release clause and is set to keep him at Camp Nou until June 2027.

After falling down the pecking order following Barcelona's summer transfer business, Torres has struggled for playing time, starting only two of their 10 competitive games this season.
