Barcelona have reportedly planned to complete the signing of Manchester City's Ilkay Gundogan before the end of the month, with discussions ongoing over a potential deal.
The 32-year-old captained the Citizens and bagged a brace on Saturday afternoon as the Premier League champions beat Sam Allardyce's Leeds United at the Etihad - a result which takes City one step closer to another league title.
Currently enjoying his seventh season in Manchester after making the switch from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in 2016, the midfielder has started 25 league matches so far - more than in any other campaign during his spell in England.
According to 90min, Barcelona remain confident of securing the services of Gundogan for next season, with negotiations between the player's representatives and the La Liga club ongoing.
The report claims that Gundogan has been offered a two-year deal at Camp Nou, with an option for a further year as Barcelona boss Xavi looks to improve his team's midfield.
It is also believed that the player's family are keen on moving to Spain - Gundogan's current deal with Pep Guardiola's men expires at the conclusion of this campaign.
Gundogan and his City teammates travel to the Bernabeu on Tuesday night to face current holders Real Madrid in the last four of the Champions League, with the German still having the chance to win European silverware at the club before a potential departure.
