Manchester City are reportedly not currently prepared to offer Sergio Aguero a new contract.
The club's record goalscorer has only made nine appearances for the Citizens during the 2020-21 campaign, having struggled to fully overcome the serious knee injury that he suffered last June.
Aguero is currently in self-isolation, meanwhile, after a member of his family tested positive for coronavirus, meaning that he will again be absent against Crystal Palace on Sunday night.
The 32-year-old's existing deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire at the end of June, and a recent report claimed that Barcelona were interested in signing him on a free transfer.
According to The Mirror, City chiefs have made it clear to Aguero that he needs to prove his fitness in the coming weeks in order to secure a new deal at the Etihad Stadium.
The report claims that Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Barca, are keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding the South American, who is currently free to discuss terms with foreign teams.
Aguero has scored just twice at club level this season but has managed 256 goals in 379 appearances for the Manchester giants since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
