Jack Rodwell: 'I'm close to Manchester City comeback'

Jack Rodwell reveals that he's "almost" ready to return to the Manchester City first team following months out with injuries.

Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell has revealed that he could be back to full fitness in two weeks' time.

The 21-year-old, who moved to the Etihad Stadium from Everton last summer, has had a disrupted start to his career with the Premier League champions due to a number of injuries.

"It's been frustrating and like most players, I'm not the best spectator in the world. It obviously helps when the lads win but I'm almost there now," Rodwell told the club's official website.

"I feel like my career here hasn't really got started yet, even though I feel really settled and at home now. I'll begin full training this week, all being well. Then I'll need ten days to a fortnight to get back up to speed and I'll be available for selection again."

Rodwell has made just six appearances for City since his transfer.
