Fulham will be hoping to avoid an unwanted Premier League record when they face Manchester City at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Fulham will look to avoid equalling an unwanted Premier League record when they face Manchester City on Sunday.

After claiming consecutive victories against Everton and Leeds United, Marco Silva's side were stopped in their tracks when they faced Aston Villa in midweek.

A first-half effort from Tyrone Mings condemned Fulham to a narrow 1-0 defeat, leaving them in 10th position with six games to play.

The Cottagers will now turn their attention to a home meeting against title-chasing Man City, and they will need to keep the free-scoring Citizens at bay if they are to avoid equalling an unwanted record.

The West London club have failed to keep a clean sheet in all 14 of their Premier League home matches against Man City.

Middlesbrough are the only side to have played more Premier League home games against a single opponent without keeping a clean sheet, after failing to record a shutout in 15 home meetings with Manchester United.

Fulham will have their work cut out when they face a Man City side that are currently the highest scorers in the top flight, having racked up 82 goals in 31 matches.

The Cottagers will also be hoping to claim their league victory over the Citizens for the first time since claiming a 3-1 win in April 2009.

They are currently winless in 15 Premier League games against Man City, with their last 10 meetings all ending in defeat.

If Fulham are to pick up a positive result then the first goal may be crucial, as the Cottagers have avoided defeat in all eight home league games (W7, D1) this season where they have scored the opening goal.
