Luis Figo: 'No guarantee of success for Pep Guardiola'

Former Barcelona and Real Madrid winger Luis Figo warns that Pep Guardiola's arrival at Manchester City will not guarantee success for the Premier League outfit.

Former Barcelona and Real Madrid winger Luis Figo has insisted that there are no guarantees that Pep Guardiola will succeed at Manchester City.

The Premier League outfit confirmed earlier today that Guardiola will take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of this season having enjoyed trophy-laden spells at Barcelona and Bayern Munich already.

Figo believes that Guardiola will win more silverware at the Etihad Stadium, but warned that nothing is certain as the Spaniard enters a new league.

"I don't know. I hope so. He is a friend. He has been successful in the past with Barcelona and Bayern Munich so I think so. You can never guarantee anything though," Figo is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

Guardiola had also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United before confirming City as his next destination.
