Kevin De Bruyne urges Manchester City to try to build a "good advantage" over their Premier League opponents going into the winter.

Kevin De Bruyne has urged Manchester City to aim for a "good advantage" over their Premier League opponents going into the winter.

Pep Guardiola's charges sit top of the table on 28 points from their opening 10 games and have scored 35 goals in that time.

The Citizens' impressive form has led to many tipping them for the title, but De Bruyne insists that the hard work is yet to come, particularly against the other big teams.

"We are very happy to be five points ahead of United and a little bit more ahead of the rest," the Belgian told The Mirror.

"But we need to put pressure on in the next big games coming up so it gives us a good advantage going into winter. The difference from last season is that we are winning.

"I don't think we had a bad season last year, but against the top teams where we had good games we couldn't finish it off – now we are doing that."

Up next for Man City is Sunday's Premier League home encounter with Arsenal.
