Kevin De Bruyne happy to play second fiddle to Romelu Lukaku

Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne says that he has no problem playing anywhere in midfield, having claimed two assists and a goal in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia.

Kevin De Bruyne has insisted that he is happy to play in a deep position for Belgium as he has confidence in his teammates to make a difference inside the box.

The 26-year-old bagged a couple of assists in the Red Devils' 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia on Tuesday evening, setting up goals for Romelu Lukaku and Michy Batshuayi either side of half time.

De Bruyne also scored one of his own late on in the match after being pushed into a more advanced role, and the Manchester City midfielder has suggested that he is content playing wherever manager Roberto Martinez wants.

"With Belgium, I now play in a position where I do not get many goals," he told reporters after the match. "But in the last 10 to 15 minutes, I started to play a bit higher.

"My job is to let the team run as a defensive midfielder. The people in front of me are more than good enough to make the difference. The second half was better than the first. The way we put pressure was more organised, it was better.

"I thought this was a good test to continue to grow. It may not have been an important game, but of course you want to win. This way you create a mentality in which you want to keep winning. This was also much better than the previous two matches we played."

Belgium are now unbeaten in 16 matches, winning 12 of those, and have three more friendlies lined up before the World Cup.
