Lyon 2-1 Sochaux

Lyon managed to keep pace with Lille by securing a 2-1 victory over Sochaux at the Stade de Gerland.

The hosts were in front after three minutes when Kim Kallstrom's free kick found the head of Dejan Lovren, who dispatched the ball into the top right corner.

Les Gones could not capitalise on the great start and had to wait until the 65th minute before adding a second.

Bafetimbi Gomis made it two goals in two games by slotting nicely past Teddy Richert after Anthony Reveillere had played him in behind the Sochaux defence.

Modibo Maiga did restore a glimmer of hope for the visitors with a well-taken goal six minutes later.

However, it was Remi Garde's men who celebrated an important victory in the race for Champions League qualification.
