Robbie Fowler: 'Luis Suarez ban is harsh on Liverpool'

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes that Luis Suarez's four-month ban from football is harsh on the Merseyside club.

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has claimed that Luis Suarez's four-month ban from football is harsh on the Merseyside club.

The Uruguay frontman has been suspended for four months and a total of nine international matches after biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

Suarez will be out of action until November and Fowler believes that the sanction will hit Liverpool hard.

"Everyone thinks it's too harsh on Liverpool," he told talkSPORT. "No one is saying he didn't deserve to be punished but, maybe, it's a little bit too harsh on Liverpool."

Suarez has previously been banned twice for biting an opponent.
