Aston Villa swoop to seal Tiago Ilori loan signing

Liverpool allow defender Tiago Ilori to join Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal, subject to Premier League clearance.

Aston Villa have made their second defensive signing of the day by moving through a loan deal for Tiago Ilori from Liverpool, subject to Premier League clearance.

After securing the signature of Joleon Lescott, it appeared that Villa had completed their business for the summer, but manager Tim Sherwood has swooped to bring in Portugal Under-21 international Ilori.

Ilori had also been linked with Sunderland, but according to Sky Sports News, Villa have signed the player on a season-long loan deal.

Villa will also have the option of buying the 22-year-old, who spent last season at Bordeaux, on a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.
