Report: Tiago Ilori turns down Sunderland loan move

A report suggests that Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori has rejected the opportunity to join Sunderland on loan until the end of the season.

Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori has turned down a loan move to Sunderland, according to a report.

The 22-year-old was linked with a switch to play for the Black Cats for the rest of the 2015-16 campaign in order to find regular first-team football.

However, Ilori has rejected the chance to join Dick Advocaat's men after the Dutchman refused to clarify how much playing time he would receive at the Stadium of Light, reports The Express.

The Portugal Under-21 international joined Liverpool for £7m in 2013 and has spent time on loan at Granada and Bordeaux over the past two seasons.
