Head coach Thomas Thomas confirms that midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is on the brink of leaving Bayern Munich for Liverpool.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is on the brink of joining Liverpool.

Despite high hopes of making an impact at the Allianz Arena, the Netherlands international has endured a hugely frustrating 15 months in Germany.

All but three of his 25 appearances in the Bundesliga have come from the substitutes' bench, and the lack of game time has led to constant speculation regarding his future.

In the final hours of the summer transfer window, it now appears that a resolution has been found with Tuchel acknowledging that the 21-year-old wants to leave the club.

On Thursday, it was claimed that a £34.2m fee had been agreed between Bayern and Liverpool ahead of Gravenberch undergoing a medical with the Premier League outfit.

At a press conference on Friday morning, Jurgen Klopp insisted that he would not be commenting on those reports, saying that "nothing has really happened yet".

However, Tuchel has taken a different approach to the situation, telling media in Germany that Gravenberch has made the decision to sign for Liverpool.

Tuchel said: "He wasn't happy with his situation here as he sees the chance in Liverpool to fight for a place in a 4-3-3.

"He's wanted to go for a while. An offer came in, we discussed it. The outcome is clear."

Bayern now hope to agree a deal with Fulham for Joao Palhinha, Sky Sports News reporting that the Portuguese has been given permission to travel to Munich.

That said, the same outlet says that any transfer is dependent on the Cottagers finding a suitable replacement before the 11pm (BST) deadline.
