Sunderland interested in loan deal for Fabio Borini?

Sunderland are reportedly interested in bringing Liverpool forward Fabio Borini back to the club on a season-long loan deal.

Sunderland have reportedly reignited their interest in signing Liverpool forward Fabio Borini.

The Italian forward is expected to be sold before the end of the transfer window after being forced to train with Liverpool's youngsters in recent weeks, and both Fiorentina and West Ham United are believed to be bidding for his signature.

However, the Sunderland Echo claims that the Black Cats have joined the race for the 24-year-old, who scored 10 goals in all competitions during a loan spell at the Stadium of Light in the 2013-14 campaign.

Sunderland had agreed a deal to sign Borini permanently last summer, but he rejected the move in favour of fighting for his place at Anfield.

The former Chelsea striker would go on to make just 12 Premier League appearances last season, and the report suggests that Dick Advocaat's side have expressed an interest in taking him on a season-long loan.

Sunderland, who started the season with a 4-2 defeat to Leicester City last weekend, are looking to strengthen their attack after selling Connor Wickham to Crystal Palace earlier this month.
