Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing rejects a move to Blackburn Rovers in favour of a potential switch to Bolton Wanderers, according to a report.

Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing will reject a move to Blackburn Rovers because he wants to sign for Bolton Wanderers, according to a report.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the Reebok Stadium after finding first-team opportunities limited at Anfield.

Rovers were impressed by his performance in the Championship and hoped to land the midfielder in a £1.5m deal.

However, he has turned down the chance to move to Ewood Park to wait and see if Dougie Freedman's side make the Reds an offer, reports The People.

Spearing made 39 appearances for the Trotters last season in all competitions.
