Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu won't block Alex Teixeira's move

Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Mircea Lucescu suggests that he will not stand in his way if Alex Teixeira wants to leave.

Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Mircea Lucescu has suggested that he will not stand in Alex Teixeira's way if he wants to leave the Ukrainian club.

Widespread reports have claimed that the playmaker wants to join Liverpool with the aim of boosting his chances of getting into the Brazil national team.

The Reds are believed to have had two bids of £25m and £28m rejected by Shakhtar, but Lucescu has claimed that he does not want to keep a player whose mind is elsewhere.

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Lucescu said: "[Teixeira is] worth €50m (£38m). He's incredible, very fast, very good technique.

"Our president knows when it is the time for Teixeira to go. I don't want to keep a player against his desire. He wants to play in a big championship."

Teixeira has scored 22 goals in 15 league appearances this season.
