Liverpool have failed to shake Shakhtar Donetsk's firm stance on Alex Teixeira after a second bid was reportedly turned down by the club.
The Merseyside outfit are believed to be determined to land the Brazilian's signature before the end of this month in order to add to the team's attacking dimensions.
The Reds reportedly had a bid in the region of £25m turned down by the Ukrainian club and now, according to the Daily Mail, a second offer of £28m has been rebuffed.
Liverpool's chief executive Ian Ayre flew to Florida last week to Shakhtar's warm-weather training base in order to meet with club officials.
It seems, though, that the club, who reportedly value Teixeira at around £40m, are refusing to budge despite reports that the player wants to join the Premier League outfit.
Teixeira has scored 22 goals in 15 league appearances this season.
