Brendan Rodgers quiet on Luis Suarez contract

Brendan Rodgers remains quiet on reports that Liverpool have opened talks with Luis Suarez regarding a new contract.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers has insisted that he has nothing to say with regards to a new contract for striker Luis Suarez.

Reports have emerged claiming that the Merseyside outfit have opened talks with the player's representatives regarding fresh terms.

Despite suggestions that Liverpool could break the bank to offer the Uruguayan around £200,000 a week in wages, Rodgers has opted to remain quiet on a new deal.

"There's nothing to report on that," Rodgers said in a press conference. "He's just focusing on his football."

Suarez has scored 17 league goals for the Reds so far this season.
