Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly poised to sign Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda in January.
The 27-year-old attacker is likely to be available on a free transfer in the New Year, as his current contract at CSKA Moscow is due to expire on December 31.
Liverpool, Juventus, AS Monaco and AC Milan are all understood to be interested in signing Honda, but, according to The Express, Spurs are at the head of the queue.
The paper also claims that the London club have offered the player wages in excess of the £70,000 per week that he currently earns in Russia.
If Honda does arrive at White Hart Lane, he will become the second Japan international to play for Tottenham, after Kazuyuki Toda, who played four games in England in 2003 while on loan from Shimizu S-Pulse.
