Report: Liverpool want defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos

Liverpool will reportedly move for Schalke 04 defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos this summer as they look to replace Jamie Carragher.

Liverpool are eyeing a move to sign Schalke 04 defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos to replace Jamie Carragher, according to a report.

Brendan Rodgers is willing to spend in the region of £13.5m to land the Greece international as he looks to fill the void left in his defence following the retirement of Carragher.

The Mirror reports that Papadopoulos is the Reds' top defensive target this summer following a number of impressive performances for club and country.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in Manchester City defender Kolo Toure as Rodgers seeks to revamp his defence this summer.
