Liverpool have reportedly looked to distance themselves from claims that the club have an agreement to sign Alexandre Pato in January.
It was initially suggested that the club had completed a €20m (£14.2m) fee for the Brazilian international but according to Goal, Liverpool have dismissed any links with a move for Pato.
The former AC Milan striker has been linked with a number of clubs across England over the last few months, and it is believed that the 26-year-old is keen on a return to Europe after he moved back to Brazil in 2013.
Pato is currently on loan at Sao Paolo from Corinthians and has scored 38 times since joining the club in February 2014.
