Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke will inform the club that he wants to leave this summer, according to reports.
The Belgian international has been heavily linked with a transfer to Liverpool but Villa are reportedly only willing to let him go for his buy-out sum of £32.5m.
Liverpool consider that too steep and will move on to other targets if no compromise can be reached with Villa, claims The Guardian.
The paper says that Villa hope a place in next year's European Championship with Belgium will encourage Benteke to reach top form, but the striker is adamant that he wants to leave and play for a club competing higher up the table.
The 24-year-old moved to Villa Park from Genk in 2012.
